GREAT AMERICAN CAPITAL, along with its affiliated
companies, is a multifaceted real estate development
company headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is
involved in all areas of real estate and its
development, including property management, real estate
financing and the provision of investment capital for
special projects.
Great American Capital has a broad range of experience
with extensive expertise in the areas of land
acquisition, site design, entitlements, construction,
financing, leasing, and property management. Over the
last 31 years, GAC and its affiliated companies have
developed a combined value of more than four billion
dollars of real estate and 500 buildings throughout Las Vegas, California,
and Arizona.
The Company initially started in California where it was
known as the HOMESTEAD GROUP ASSOCIATES (1975-1992), a
diversified construction and development firm which
developed apartment buildings, office buildings,
shopping centers, single family subdivisions and
condominiums throughout Southern California. In
1987-1988 Homestead was named one of the 4th Largest
Residential Builders in Southern California, per the Los
Angeles Times annual survey of the top 400 builders.
Professional Builder Magazine’s July 1988 edition also
named Homestead the 74th Largest Residential Builder in
the United States, and in the following year was named
the 62nd Largest Residential Builder in the US, out of
400. Over the life of Homestead Group Associates, a
number of its individual projects were also recognized
with accolades and awards for both design and community
contribution.
In 1992, the group moved into the emerging Las Vegas
real estate market and started GREAT AMERICAN CAPITAL
(1992-Present). Great American Capital is a fully
diversified real estate development company,
headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, which has developed
over 5 million square feet of retail and office space in
Nevada, California, Arizona and Illinois. With occupancy
rates well above industry standard, Great American
Capital’s retail and office projects are often
recognized as the benchmark by which Class-A retail
developments are measured. The Las Vegas Business
Journal named Great American Capital the number two
commercial developer in 1998, and in 2001 ranked it
number four. Over the years, GAC has also diversified
its holdings by providing investment capital to various
joint venture partners for special purpose projects,
such as single family home development in Las Vegas,
industrial projects in California and Arizona, and
specialty retail projects in both Southern California
and San Diego Counties. Its portfolio has also grown to
include apartment complexes, condominiums, industrial
projects, Storage facilities, and infill rehab projects.
The principals of Great American Capital feel that
diversification is key to maintaining a stable presence
in the industry, a philosophy that is evidenced by its
varied portfolio of operating retail and apartment
projects, land holdings and upwards of two dozen projects under development or construction, at any point in time. |
